I2CDriver launches

The I2CDriver campaign has launched today on Crowd Supply. The link is here. I know many people on this list backed SPIDriver. Quite a few people have discussed I2CDriver, which has been a good source of ideas on what features to include. So thanks for your support - I hope it reaches the goal and turns into a real product! The module selection extras are pretty cool too. This is the link.


It was quite a lot of work of prepare the material. I like to think that I've got a little better at putting images together. But I certainly haven't got any faster - it still takes me just as long to get to a point where the image seems acceptable. This is the setup I used this morning for taking a shot of I2CDriver driving some I2C LEDS:


The parts are carefully arranged and stuck to a sheet of paper with hold putty, the camera is on manual focus with a really long exposure -- about 1 second. This gives a nice diffuse light.  The resulting image after a little cleanup in Gimp looks like this:

This kind of process, repeated dozens of times, is how I have been occupying myself for the last few days.

With the help of the great people at Crowd Supply, the campaign is now underway! I'll write more about the process next week.
